Hospital Transport Scheme
The Volunteer Centre operates various transport schemes for the benefit of our local communities. Two Hospital Transport Schemes serve the six Northern Parishes of North West Leicestershire for those people registered at Castle Donington and Kegworth Surgeries. Volunteer drivers transport clients to the major hospitals and relevant clinics within Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Clients are collected from, and returned to their home address, and the driver acts as escort at the hospital/clinic.
The Castle Donington service is funded by Charnwood & North West Leicestershire Primary Care Trust and the Kegworth service by Kegworth Parish Council. Clients travel free of charge however, donations are gratefully accepted and ploughed back into the services to increase the number of tasks that can be accepted.
