Opportunities - Gardening Scheme urgently requires volunteers to help elderly/disabled clients in Castle Donington and surrounding areas. with a basic gardening service (simple grass cutting, weeding, etc.)

Hospital Transport Scheme –  Drivers URGENTLY required especially in the Kegworth area, to drive elderly and medically unfit to hospitals in Derby, Nottingham and Leicester and also local surgeries and clinics.

A mileage allowance is paid.

Minibus Drivers and Escorts -

Drivers and escorts required for various journeys - weekdays and weekends as and when necessary/available to drive wheelchair accessible minibuses. Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MIDAS) training will be provided, Drivers must aged 25 to 65 and possess a clean driving licence.
 

Day Centre Helpers – Helpers required to assist with activities, serving drinks, outings etc. for the following Groups:-

    Stroke Club - Mondays 10am - 2pm
    Monday Day Centre Age Concern -10.00am – 3.00pm
    Wednesday Day Centre Age Concern - 12.00 Noon – 4.00pm
    Friday Group Helpers - 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Kegworth Lunch Club - helpers needed to arrange lunches for people living in the Kegworth area on monthly Monday and weekly Thursday lunchtimes.

School Reading Groups - Helpers required to assist with childrens’ reading groups at both Orchard School and the Community College. Times vary , please contact the Centre for more information.

North West Leicestershire Befriending Scheme for Mental Health - This scheme meets in Castle Donington once a fortnight – more details on request.

Homestart – Help for families with children under school age and who are experiencing difficulties. Referrals for this service can be given into the Bureau and they will be forwarded to Homestart. Volunteer travelling expenses are paid
