Our Core Function is to:
Interview and recruit people wishing to become volunteers for local projects.
Place volunteers with voluntary and/or statutory agencies or with Centre in-house projects.
Advise volunteers and organisations on any issues that are relevant to their successful operation.
Inform prospective volunteers of their rights as volunteers and of policies such as Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety at Work etc.
Develop new projects that involve volunteers in liaison with other agencies.
Train volunteers, voluntary and self-help groups in the skills and knowledge required to achieve their objectives.
Promote voluntary work to the general public and provide a focal point for all organisations using volunteers.
Liaise with statutory and voluntary organisations locally, countywide and nationally.
Represent voluntary work issues to local policy makers.
